Florence distribution center worker tests positive for coronavirus

Officials at Qurate Retail Group, who oversee production at the QVC Florence plant in Florence County, released a statement regarding a team member who tested positive for coronavirus.

'The health and safety of our team members, customers, and communities remains our utmost priority, and we continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure a safe working environment. We have been made aware of one team member at our Florence site who received a positive test result for COVID-19. We are in contact with the appropriate government agencies and are cooperating fully with their recommendations for managing this situation. As a result of our safe social distancing practices, no other team members were in close contact with the impacted team member while on site.'

Corporate officials said they are providing support to the impacted team member, who is in self quarantine. The center has undergone a deep clean of all work stations and shared spaces, in addition to the already enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures.

Officials said they communicated information about the situation to all team members at the site.

"We continue to follow all appropriate preventative and mitigation protocols as outlined by the CDC and Dept of Health. The health, safety, and well-being of our team members remains our top priority through this effort," said Director of Corporate Communications Llana McCabe.
