Freesat launches campaign for third generation receivers

Freesat has launched a new ad campaign designed to promote its range of next generation receivers.

Two months after the basic edition of Freesat's new receiver arrived on Amazon, the satellite TV service last week made a recordable version of its new 4K next generation receiver available to buy.

The Freesat UHD-4X Smart 4K Ultra HD Digital TV Recorder is available with either 500GB or 1TB storage for recordings and has been stocked at Currys PCWorld, with prices starting at £199. 4K support and a selection of smart TV apps, including iPlayer, My5, eros now and Netflix are included.

Freesat's ad campaign emphasises the smart TV aspect of the service, although free 4K content is limited to the BBC's Ultra HD trials via the iPlayer.
