John said:

I am so excited to join Sewing Street! Before my first show on Sunday I thought I would share a little bit about me. I stitched my first stitch on a sewing machine in May 2014. I was instantly addicted to it. I researched everything I could get my hands on and was in awe of all these fantastically talented people.

I created a Facebook page ('Beginner’s Quilt Support Group') which I run entirely on my own. It’s a truly safe space for people to love and enjoy all things quilting.

The group and I made a quilt for the Queen for her 90th birthday. A group project that I sewed together and had quilted. We showed it at the Festival of Quilts the year of her birthday. Then I was lucky enough to be able to deliver it to Her Majesty myself.

I filmed the Kirstie Allsop 'Handmade Christmas TV' show in 2018. And I also appeared on the 'Wonderful World of Crafting' on channel 5, where Kaffe Fassett mentored me and set me a challenge to make a quilt that truly reflected me as a designer and quilter.  I can't wait to see all your makes and join the team!
