VC, HSN, Lowe’s and Macy’s Join USA Network’s Shoppable Competition Series

USA Network has teamed up with retailers QVC, HSN, Macy’s and Lowe’s for its new live shoppable competition series, America’s Big Deal.

The series, hosted by Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans and premiering Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. ET, features participants selling their products live on-air to home viewers, powered by NBCUniversal’s One Platform offering.

Each week competitors will pitch their products and the person with the highest dollar sales at the end of the show will win a chance to strike a deal with one of the retail giants.

QVC, HSN, Macy’s and Lowe’s will each have a brand representative on the panel. Joy Mangano, CEO of The Joy Company and HSN personality—who is also an executive producer on the show—will represent QVC and HSN. Lowe’s will rotate through three executives—Marisa Thalberg, evp, chief brand and marketing officer; Don Frieson, evp, supply chain; and Bill Boltz, evp, merchandising—and Macy’s will feature Durand Guion, vp of Macy’s Fashion Office.

NBCUniversal is leveraging its internal One Platform offering, which enables the company to sell its ad inventory across all screens. The show will prompt viewers with a Shoppable TV code that can be scanned on-screen, and purchases are completed through NBCUniversal Checkout—those purchasing decisions will help decide which entrepreneur wins each night.
